September 1995
Dear Circle Members:
Thanks so much for the going away gift. We will make good use of
the book about state parks and display the bag and the card in the
trailer. The pictures on both perfectly express what we’re doing ªpacking everything possible in our little wagon and holding hands
as we begin a new adventure.
By the time you read this, we’ll be campground hosts in
Arkansas, coming in once a week to enjoy root canals for two, until
October. Then we’ll probably head for Big Bend, Texas.
Leaving for a year can get complicated. The task of shimming up
all the little wobbles in our house, car, trailer, and our bodies
was humongous. A lot more was loose and not working than we’d
realized. As we sorted and packed some things to store, others to
take with us, still others to give away, throwing out an
unbelievable amount of junk, the house looked harassed, as if Gerry
and I had been hoop – ti – doing through every room. On a wild rampage.
Skipping and flinging things helter skelter.
And in the midst of it all life goes on with the usual number of
crises, celebrations, and chores. Naturally, during the hullabaloo,
I gained three pounds and Gerry lost five. Unfair!
I’ll miss you all and the goofy, laughing times we’ve had at
circle meetings.
Thanks again from both of us.
